The Skyline Aviation Club is registered by the Government and governed under the Indian Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. The Club is the first and only Aviation Training Organisation of its kind in India to provide Aviation careers information, guidance and coaching for pilots theoretical written examination conducted by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Civil Aviation Department, Govt of India and Federal Aviation Administration, US Department of Transportation, Goverment of USA along with special coaching in telecommunciations courses Like (i) COP/RT(R) - Flight Radio Telephony licence, (ii) Wireless telegraphy for Instrument Rating, (iii) Amateur Wireless Telegraph Station Operator (HAM) licenses under the Club License Vide #22623 VU2ADO issued by the Ministry of Communication & I.T, The Government of India.

The Skyline Aviation Club is an independent, non-goverment, non-profit, organisation solely existing for providing classroom coaching to prepare eligible candidates for various pilot's licenses oral / written examinations conducted by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Wireless Planning and Co-0rdination Wing, Department of Telecommunciations and I.T, Govt of India. As per letter No. AV-22011/11/93-FG dated 04-08-84 of DGCA, Civil Aviation Department, Govt of India stating non-requirement of grant of approval for Ground School and Federal Aviation Adminstration (FAA), Govt of USA under FAA Certified Pilot Ground Instructors, US Department of Transportation, FAA, USA; Working in similar manner as other Aviation training organisations in India except for practical flight training through its affiliated Flying Clubs and Flight Training Institutes in India and foreign countries

• Providing Emergency Communication services through Ham Radio Communication for disaster management during Earthquake, Flood, Tsunami etc. through Goverment of India Licensed Ham Radio Station Call Sign VU2ADO since 1994.
• Providing Airline Information & Career Guidance through free seminar to encourage youngsters to take up Aviation as a Career
• Arranging airshow to create awareness amongst students & general public

Introduction:

Capt AD Manek founded The Skyline Aviation Club in 1987. He is currently presiding as Managing Trustee and Chief Advisor of The Skyline Aviation Club, Mumbai.

Born in 1961, he had ambition of becoming a pilot since child hood.His tryst with aviation started with a visit to a flying club to find out how to become a pilot in 1979. He acquired his Private Pilot's License from DGCA in 1985 in India. He was able to complete his Commercial Pilot's Certificate training with Instrument Rating, Multi Engine Rating and Instructor Rating from U.S.A in 1989.

He also completed his training in "Aircraft Dispatcher" from Institute of Flight Operations & Dispatch (IFOD), Texas, USA. in 2008.

Due to lack of information, Guidance and proper training it took fifteen years to make his dream come true as a commercial Pilot. He took up job for a short time with Air India Employees Guild Training Center, Mumbai as a Principal. The strong reason behind formation of The Skyline Aviation Club is to help new comers to achieve their goal of becoming a pilot in shortest possible time by giving them proper information, guidance and best available training which Capt.A.D.Manek missed in making his career.
